Sky Germany reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are demanding €80m for striker Omar Marmoush as he attracts interest from Manchester City.
The Premier League side are said to already be in advanced talks with the player over a winter move to Manchester but Frankfurt are, unsurprisingly, reluctant to lose their best player halfway through the season.
Die Adler has set a price of €80m for Marmoush. There is no release clause in his contract that expires in 2027 and any offers that are below the €80m valuation will be rejected outright. City sees a price of €50-60m as more realistic, but the two teams have yet to engage in negotiations. Nottingham Forest, who are ahead of City in the Premier League table, tried to sign Marmoush in the summer for €30m but Frankfurt rejected their advances.
Frankfurt are known to be hard negotiators having been able to squeeze €95m out of PSG for Randal Kolo Muani in 2023. While they have also previously received high fees for the likes of Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller. It is likely that Frankfurt will be equally as hard this time around.
Marmoush is having the best season of his career so far as he has scored 18 goals and 11 assists in 24 games for Frankfurt in all competitions.
Bild reports that Mainz’s Jonathan Burkardt and Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo are candidates to replace Marmoush if he does leave in the winter. However, Mainz has ruled out a departure for Burkardt this month.
