The latest round of Euro 2024 qualifiers concluded on Tuesday with action across Group C, G and H.

Here’s what went down.

England claim Italy double to seal Euro spot

Scorers: Kane (PEN) 31′, 76′, Rashford 57′; Scamacca 15′

England clinched their place at next year’s Euros with a second qualifying win over Italy in a rematch of the 2021 final.

Former West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca opened the scoring at Wembley when he met Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s ball across the face of goal.

Di Lorenzo was later responsible for the Azzurri being pulled level with his foul on Jude Bellingham allowing Harry Kane to convert from the penalty spot.

Gareth Southgate’s side finally took the lead early into the second half as Bellingham teed up Marcus Rashford for a low right-footed effort

Kane added a third in the closing stages with a super individual effort as he surged through and slotted coolly past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Denmark keep things tight in Group H

Scorers: Golinucci 61′; Højlund 42′, Poulsen 70′

Denmark are neck-and-neck with Slovenia in qualifying Group H after a comeback win over minnows San Marino.

Rasmus Højlund broke the deadlock three minutes before half time with a powerful effort into the roof of the net from a narrow angle.

Alessandro Golinucci scored an historic equaliser with his country’s first competitive goal in more than two years just after the hour mark.

But the Danes struck back less than 10 minutes later courtesy of Yussuf Poulsen heading home from Jonas Wind’s floated cross at the far post.

Slovenia hold onto top spot with Northern Ireland win

Scorers: Čerin 9′

Slovenia held onto Group H’s top spot with a perfunctory win over Northern Ireland at Windsor Park.

The hosts fell behind in the fifth minute when Adam Čerin struck a superb curling free kick from just outside the penalty area.

Matters worsened for the Green and White Army after the interval as they were reduced to 10 men when Shea Charles picked up a second booking.

Matjaž Kek’s side sit level on 19 points with Denmark at the qualifying summit but hold a fractionally superior goal difference.
