Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has provided the names of three players as a solution to the absence of Mykhailo Mudryk, who is facing a ban.
We do not yet know how long Mudryk will be banned for, it at all, but it is not looking good for the Ukrainian winger as he tested positive for using a banned substance. We are still waiting to hear what will happen to him. Although it looks like he will receive a hefty ban.
So Chelsea will need to find ways to cover Mudryk as the season goes on and more cup games come in to play as well as the Conference League starting up again.
The Blues of course have Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho who can play on the left, but Maresca has named a couple other players to provide the cover there for them and Mudryk.
Maresca earmarks Tyrique George and Nkunku inside off the left with Cucurella pushing higher as solutions now that Joao Felix has left and Mudryk is not available.

“Our sporting structure has a lot of egg on their face right now. It’s bad business across the board here. I mean, you bought players only to loan them immediately,” Presenter Nick Verlaney said.
You’re bringing back players who should have been with the squad all along. It looks like a lot of mismanagement all around. And if you ask me right now if Chelsea have a better squad for the second half of the season than they had for the first half – I think the answer is unequivocally: ‘no’.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s only incoming new signing for January was finally announced by the club late yesterday afternoon!
