In a recent report, Brazilian news outlet UOL mentioned that Everton are eyeing a move for Red Bull Bragantino midfielder Eric Ramires. It has been stated that the Toffees are showing interest in recruiting the Brazilian midfield ace.
Ramires has done well to prove his worth as a first-team starter in the Brasileiro during this campaign. The 21-year-old has already made 85 senior appearances for RB Bragantino, netting six goals and grabbing three assists thus far.
The Salvador-born talent has mostly come off the bench this season which could be why he is only averaging 1.2 tackles, 0.3 interceptions, 0.5 clearances, 0.5 shots, 0.5 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in the Brazilian top-flight. However, he has been accurate when distributing possession from midfield after making 87.3% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Ramires doesn’t shy away from making a tackle at the centre of the park and is often quick to react to the danger that helps him earn the ball back for his team. The Brazilian talent can make some skillful runs with the ball from midfield when he is playing with confidence but needs to find a way to earn more first-team starts in the coming seasons.
Everton boss Frank Lampard has got the luxury to offer him regular football at Goodison Park as he would serve as a decent replacement for Allan who is a player on the decline.
At 21, Ramires has got a bright future ahead of him which makes him a decent option for the Merseyside club to consider in this off-season. The Brazilian prospect will bring more bite and steel to Lampard’s midfield and increase competition for places within his match-day squad.
Hence, Everton should think about trying everything in their power to lure Ramires to the northwest of England during this summer transfer period as he could help them push for a European place and maybe even compete for a major trophy in the not-too-distant future.
