Former Hellas Verona and Fiorentina midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro sees Inter Milan as the ‘strongest team’ in Serie A.

During his recent interview with Radio Firenze Viola via FCInterNews, Di Gennaro offered his view of the fierce Scudetto race.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a three-way title race in Serie A.

However, Atalanta and Napoli have shown the quality and determination required to dethrone the Nerazzurri this season.

Above all, they’ve demonstrated consistency.

That’s been an essential ingredient in every title battle, perhaps best illustrated by Inter’s dominant run last term.

Meanwhile, Napoli did the same in 2022/23 en route to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

Only a point separates these teams now, with Inter on the wrong side of the gap.

But Simone Inzaghi has overseen one game less than Gian Piero Gasperini and Antonio Conte.

Therefore, trying to guess the winner would be as good as flipping a coin.

Antonio Di Gennaro Hails Inter Milan as Best Team in Serie A

Lazio seemed capable of making a stunning title push until Inter brought them back down to earth in December.

Indeed, the defending champions trounced Marco Baroni’s side 6-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, Di Gennaro admits the Biancocelesti have positively surprised him this term.

“Regarding the league, I have to say that Lazio impressed me, especially against Atalanta,” he said.

Despite praising Inter, he warned Inzaghi of Napoli’s threat.

Without the distraction of European football, the Partenopei could be a thorn in Inter’s side.

“Inter seems to be the strongest team to me, while Napoli only has the league to focus on.”

Meanwhile, Di Gennaro doesn’t fancy AC Milan’s comeback under Sergio Conceicao.

“I don’t know if Milan will come back, I see them below, like Bologna.

“As for Juventus, in my opinion, they can make a difference if they strengthen in the market.”
