Everton have joined Celtic in the chase to sign Sheffield United forward David Parkhouse, Football Insider understands.
Parkhouse has been earning rave reviews following his goalscoring exploits on loan at League of Ireland Premier League outfit Derry City.
Football Insider revealed this week that Celtic have a strong interest in the striker, 19, and an Everton source has told us that they are also actively monitoring him.
Championship club Blackburn Rovers are also keeping tabs on Parkhouse as they look to secure a player who the source explained to Football Insider has been dubbed ‘the new Jamie Vardy’.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international has scored 18 goals so far this season for Derry City, including a stunning four-goal salvo in the EA Sports Cup semi-final win over Waterford.
Parkhouse is highly regarded at Sheffield United and he was named on the bench for the first-team in the Carabao Cup last season.
He is out of contract at Sheffield United next summer and Everton, Blackburn and Celtic are all plotting moves to lure the prolific goalscorer away from Bramall Lane.
In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that Borussia Dortmund have had a bid for wonderkid rejected by the Merseyside club.
