According to Marca, Valencia and Fenerbahçe are closing in on an agreement that would see Maxi Gómez move to the Turkish Süper Lig.
Last week it was reported that Valencia are looking to offload Maxi Gómez in order to free up the budget necessary to sign Edinson Cavani.
Los Che put a €12m price tag on the 26-year-old. However, with the transfer market closing this coming Thursday and Valencia wanting to offload Gómez as soon as possible, it is believed that Fenerbahçe will only pay €6m to secure his services.
Nonetheless, a clause will be included in the deal which will see the Spanish side receive 20% of the player’s future sale.
The Uruguayan joined Valencia from Celta Vigo in 2019. Having only scored five goals in 32 games in all competitions last season, Gennaro Gattuso is looking to replace Gómez with a more clinical striker who can help the club improve upon their disappointing 10th-place finish.
