Feyenoord loan Gjivai Zechiël to Sparta Rotterdam for the remainder of the season | OneFootball

Gjivai Zechiël (20) will finish the season on loan at Sparta Rotterdam. On Monday it became clear that Feyenoord would loan the midfield prospect to their city rival, where he had been in the youth academy for six years.

Gerard Nijkamp: “Gjivai is a player who has shown himself at Eredivisie level and even has Champions League experience. At Feyenoord he is close to the first eleven, but it is good for his development to play for a club where the chances of playing time are greater.

“It is great that someone who has played for Sparta for so long, and knows the club well, is returning for the coming months. We are convinced that he will be of added value to this team as a controlling midfielder.”

Zechiël is a five-time international for Jong Oranje, in which he scored once. He played sixteen official matches for Feyenoord.
