Simone Inzaghi has taken a much different path to success than Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, note however that the current Nerazzurri boss is on course to follow in his distant predecessor’s Treble-winning footsteps.
Inter Milan are in the hunt across all competitions this season.
In Serie A, the Nerazzurri have a three-point advantage over Napoli in a fierce title race.
In the Coppa Italia, meanwhile, everything is to play for. The Nerazzurri drew 1-1 with AC Milan in the first leg of a semfiinal tie.
And next week, Inter will play the first leg of a Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich.
There is certainly a lot of work for Inter to do, and a lot of uncertainty. But it is hardly just a pipe dream for Inter to think about the European Treble.

The last time Inter won all of the Serie A title, Coppa Italian, and Champions League, Jose Mourinho was on the bench.
Mourinho was only Inter coach for two seasons. But it would be fair to say that he left his mark.
Simone Inzaghi is perhaps the coach to have found the closest thing to the Portgueuse’s special alchemy at the Nerazzurri since.
And there are real parallels between the current Inter coach and his predecessor, now at Fenerbahce.
Both Inzaghi and Mourinho have won over the trust and loyalty of a tight-knit group of experienced players.
But Tuttosport suggest that the parallels essentially end there.
During his time at Inter – and both before and after – Mourinho has marked himself out for his fiery temper. He is nothing short of a controversy magnet.
Inzaghi, by contrast, seems to avoid controversy at all costs.
A perfect example, Tuttosport suggest, is Inzaghi’s reaction to his red card against Udinese. After the match, the Inter coach admitted he’d crossed the line and deserved to be sent off.
It would be hard to imagine Mourinho doing the same in that situation.
Currently at Fenerbahce, the former Inter, Chelsea, and Real Madrid boss has had plenty of high-profile episodes. Most recently, he grabbed the nose of Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk in a touchline scuffle.
In any event, Mourinho’s intensity and temper were part of his persona at Inter. They were aspects that made his project tick over.
But Inzaghi is proving that there are other ways to fight for the Treble at the Nerazzurri.
