The situation at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is tense, and fans are eager for clarity. A German international could be the key to turning things around for Postecoglou’s side.

Tottenham’s interest in Julian Brandt has been reported by FootballTransfers, with the club eyeing the 28-year-old midfielder as a potential January signing.

Brandt’s contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in the summer, but former Spurs scout Bryan King believes chairman Daniel Levy might hold off until then to secure him on a free transfer.

"He’s a good player, Brandt," King told Tottenham News. "We’re talking about a quality player, a German international. If Spurs have the chance to sign him, and he wants to come to England, then they should absolutely do it. It’s a shame they can’t bring him in this January."

King also criticised Levy’s frugality, suggesting that waiting to save money could harm the team’s chances this season.

"I would certainly be looking for Spurs to be signing somebody of that quality. However, we’re talking about Mr. Levy here. If he can get a player for free, he will wait.” he added.

What could Julian Brandt offer Tottenham?

With injuries piling up and Postecoglou’s squad running on fumes, January could be a pivotal moment for Tottenham’s season.

The German international would bring creativity and depth to the midfield, offering much-needed support as Spurs aim to recover from their recent dip in form.

Levy’s cautious approach may save the club money in the long run, but it risks alienating fans and leaving the team vulnerable.
