Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram is chasing down a personal record in this evening’s Serie A match against Como.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note how the Frenchman could score in four successive Serie A matches for the first time in his Nerazzurri career.
Thuram has been Inter’s top scorer so far this season.
The 27-year-old has built on a hugely impressive debut season by becoming even more of a goal threat.
Thuram has been more lethal in the penalty area as he becomes more comfortable with the centre-forward role.
The France international can score just about every kind of goal. And he has.
But if there was one fault in Thuram’s goalscoring season to date, it was that he tended to score in matches.
Thuram scored braces, and a hattrick against Torino. But he also went weeks without finding the back of the net between these bursts.
Therefore, Inter would certainly like to see Thuram to become more ruthless from week to week.
In Inter’s last three Serie A matches, however, Thuram has managed to get on the scoresheet.
The Frenchman scored twice in a 5-0 Serie A rout of Hellas Verona last month.
Then Thuram got Inter’s second goal in a 3-1 win over Parma.
And last week, the Frenchman rounded off a 6-0 thrashing of Lazio in Serie A.
Thuram is clearly showing his hunger to keep getting on the scoresheet.
Therefore, few would bet against the Frenchman scoring this evening. Inter host Como in their final match at the San Siro of 2024.
And if he does so, Thuram will have made it four Serie A matches in a row with a goal.
The 27-year-old has certainly impressed in front of goal for Inter so far since his arrival. But that’s one thing he’s never managed to do.
