La Liga outfit Sevilla have been offered the chance to reinforce their defensive ranks by way of a cut-price option.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Marcos Alonso as the player in question.
Spanish international Alonso currently finds himself as a free agent.
This comes after the former Chelsea man’s terms with Barcelona were allowed to expire, on the back of an injury-ravaged campaign in Catalunya’s capital.
Alonso, since, has been tipped as a potential arrival at a whole host of clubs across not only Spain, but Europe and beyond, too.
As of yet, however, the 33-year-old has opted against committing to any such project.
This comes amid the understanding that he is eager to prolong his playing days at an important La Liga club.
In turn, this week, Alonso has been offered by his representatives to one such outfit, in the form of the aforementioned Sevilla.
The brass in Nervión are on the lookout for fresh blood at left-back, ahead of Marcos Acuña’s imminent departure for Argentine giants River Plate.
And Alonso, according to Marca, has emerged as one such option, ‘one of the best placed among the possible players for Sevilla’.
The experienced stopper is aware that he would need to reduce his salary demands to join the Andalusians, with it now remaining to be seen whether or not the Sevilla hierarchy opt to move for a player who ‘is highly valued in Nervión’.
