AC Milan take on Bologna at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara last night, in a rescheduled game that was originally meant to be played four months ago.
Bologna-Milan was meant to be played at the end of October, but what emerged in the 48 hours leading up to kick-off was nothing short of a farce in the end as the match was postponed due to flood risk.
Now, at the end of February, the game is even bigger for Milan. After being knocked out of the Champions League by Feyenoord last Tuesday then beaten by Torino on Saturday, the top four train is about to leave and a response is needed.
The Italian media have made Milan fully aware of what is at stake tonight, a sort of ‘last chance saloon’ to rescue a very disappointing campaign thus far.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan in Bologna. Champions League now or never.”
Corriere dello Sport: “At the Dall’Ara, the derby of saints. Conceiçao under pressure picks Leao and Pulisic. Joao Felix on the bench.”
Tuttosport: “Milan need a jolt in Bologna for the Champions League. Conceiçao’s team at a crossroads: fourth spot or revolution. Everyone on the brink, starting with the coach.”
QS: “Bologna-Milan: The game in hand is a play-off for Europe.”
