AC Milan clinched three very important points in their encounter with Hellas Verona last night. It was far from an easy game for the Rossoneri and Tijjani Reijnders as the hero, as highlighted by the newspapers this morning.
Milan head into the clash with damaged confidence after the 0-0 draw against Genoa last weekend. There were also several absences to note, with Paulo Fonseca opting to play Filippo Terracciano in the midfield tandem and Tijjani Reijnders in the No.10 role.
It ended up being a decisive move, as the Dutchman’s advanced position allowed him to break the stalemate with a really nice finish. Some would say the pass from Youssouf Fofana was even better, but getting the win was the important thing.
Today’s newspapers highlighted the fact that Fonseca was rescued by Reijnders, rather than an actual good performance from the team.
