Noah Okafor’s time in Italy has not gone how AC Milan would have hoped, and a move away is looking likely, so the Rossoneri are beginning to look for a replacement.
It was never going to be a case of Okafor being a starter for Milan instantly, and for a while, the role was suiting everyone. The Swissman was providing occasionally from the bench and could help when needed. However, this stopped being the case.
By all accounts, it seems the winger will depart in January, if not the summer, and with reports suggesting that contact with RB Leipzig is progressing, the Diavolo will need some reinforcement.
As Calciomercato.com reports, the German outfit are ‘swooping’ for the winger, and it is assumed that another winger would arrive unless Sergio Conceicao decides differently. The forward is valued at €11 million, which would provide a small boost to the transfer kitty.
At present, Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco, Jamie Leweling from Stuttgart and Pepe from Porto are being considered. Sporting winger Francisco Trincao could be an option, with Jorge Mendes’ involvement expected, but Marcus Rashford currently is the leading option, and if Manchester United lower their demands a move could be possible in the mid-season mercato.
