Shelbourne Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Gemma Murphy as the new Women’s Academy Manager.

Gemma brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. A UEFA A Licensed coach, she is currently completing her UEFA Elite Youth A Licence and holds a degree in Sports and Exercise Science from IT Carlow.

Gemma previously worked as a Development Officer with the FAI, where she focused on player and coach development through technical development programs and coach education initiatives. Her coaching career includes roles such as Women’s Academy Manager with CK United, Assistant Manager with Treaty United Women’s Senior Team, and assistant Manager with Athlone Town under Ciarán Kilduff.

In her new role, Gemma will oversee the continued growth and development of women’s underage football in the DDSL Girls Section and the Women’s Underage National League. She will play a pivotal role in implementing Shelbourne FC’s football strategy, with a focus on readying Academy players for first-team football. Additionally, Gemma will actively support and develop the club’s coaching staff on a weekly basis, ensuring the highest standards are maintained throughout the Academy.

Together, we will work to provide the best possible environment for young players to develop and reach their potential.”
