Defender Yann Bisseck admits that he “could have done better” to prevent AC Milan from scoring their opener against Inter Milan.
The German international gave his thoughts in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews.
For the second derby in a row, Inter Milan conceded first against city rivals AC Milan.
And the scorer of the Rossoneri’s opening goal was a player who’s already had quite a memorable moment in the fixture this season.
Former Roma and Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham broke through for Milan. He found the back of the net right at the start of the first half.
Abraham’s turn and finish were certainly very tidy.
But at the same time, defender Yann Bisseck in particular failed to react to the movement from the Englishman’s movement inside the penalty area.

Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck noted that “I was between two players.”
“I saw the other Milan player come into the area,” he went on. “And then I left too much space for Abraham, who scored a very good goal.”
Bisseck admitted that “I could have done better.”
“But it wasn’t just my fault,” the 24-year-old added.
Meanwhile, Bisseck also gave his thoughts on having to mark Milan winger Rafael Leao. “As a defender you always have to be ready to mark players of that quality,” he said.
“It’s always great to come up against them. I think I did a good job, as the whole team did. I’m satisfied with how we did today.”
Meanwhile, Bisseck said that Inter’s squad members “know we have to be ready at all times.”
“Because we’re playing every three days.”
“Playing a lot is a great things, though,” Bisseck insisted. “It’s tough on a physical level, but I’d never choose anything else.”
“We have to play and win,” the German said.
Then, Bisseck gave his thoughts on making his debut for Germany over the international break. “It was great,” he said. “My growth has gone well.”
“For me it’s great to play for the national team. I still have more to improve, but that call-up gives me a lot of confidence.”
