La Liga outfit Getafe will be forced to make do without the contributions of a key member of the club’s midfield ranks over the coming weeks.
This comes amid confirmation of the extent of the ban handed down to Christantus Uche.
Youngster Uche was for his part in from the off once more last Friday, as Getafe made the trip to Catalunya for a La Liga meeting with Espanyol.
En route to an eventual 1-0 defeat for the visitors, however, the 21-year-old was given his marching orders on the hour mark.
This came owing to a dangerous challenge on Jofre Carreras.
Uche did not react at all well to the decision to send him for an early bath, forcing teammates and Getafe staff members to intervene to drag the Nigerian away from the scene.
As much was reflected in the referee’s post-match report, which, as per Mundo Deportivo, outlined:
“He had to be restrained and subsequently removed from the field of play by several players and coaching staff from his team as he was approaching me, angrily protesting my decision.”
And as alluded to above, such actions on Uche’s part have since landed the midfielder in altogether hot water.
As per MD:
‘The Disciplinary Committee has suspended the player for three matches,’ one for his tackle, and two for his reaction to being sent off.
Uche, as things stand, is therefore set to miss Getafe’s upcoming fixtures against all of Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, and Valencia.
