Bayern Munich defeated VfB Stuttgart 3-1 to consolidate their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table, extending their advantage to 11 points with 10 games left.

Striker Harry Kane struggled to get a sniff against Stuttgart despite netting 21 goals in 22 league games this term. However, he will be happy to inch closer to a first career trophy.

Stuttgart came close through Deniz Undav before eventually taking the lead via Bayern academy graduate Angelo Stiller.

The German international rifled a left-footed shot into the roof of the net, leaving Manuel Neuer no chance with his ferocious hit.

Unfortunately, the Stuttgart defence capitulated, handing chance after chance to Bayern. Michael Olise obliged as he pulled Bayern level with his equaliser.

A mix-up at the back allowed Leon Goretzka to score. Bayern made their dominance count when another mistake at the back saw Kingsley Coman race through before scoring into an empty net.

Bayern were rightly worried about seventh-place Stuttgart but dispatched them with ruthless efficiency.

Second-placed Bayer Leverkusen have a difficult away game against Eintracht Frankfurt and cannot afford to slip up.

With just 10 games remaining, the Bavarians have put themselves in the driving seat, piling pressure on Leverkusen.
