With the January transfer window open, attention has shifted to who Manchester City could bring in this month. Pep Guardiola’s squad is in desperate need of reinforcements to strengthen their chase for honours this season. But while that is the focus of attention, next summer’s transfer window is looming as a critical juncture in City’s rebuild. With that in mind has a glimpse of Manchester City’s summer plans now been revealed? A new report indicates that Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush is eager to join Pep Guardiola’s side next summer.
A report from Sacha Tavolieri for SkySports indicates that Omar Marmoush only wants a move to Manchester City. Furthermore, Tavolieri’s report suggests that the Egyptian international has his heart set on a move to the world champions due to Manchester City’s style of play suits his game as per Tavolieri’s report. It is also reported that Manchester City have submitted a five-year contract offer to Omar Marmoush that will commence on July 1st.
There is no doubt that Omar Marmoush would be a quality addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad. The Egyptian international has shone so far this season for Eintracht Frankfurt. He has been a key player in their rise up the Bundesliga table this season. It also appears that the Bundesliga side is unwilling to sell Marmoush in January. That sets the scene for Manchester City to push for a summer deal for the Egyptian international. There is a hole in City’s squad after the sale of Julian Alvarez last summer. Marmoush would fill that void if he were to arrive at the Etihad next summer. But that doesn’t help now so it will be interesting to see if Manchester City do have other plans in place to sign a forward this month. Perhaps the return of Oscar Bobb from injury and the arrival of Claudio Echeverri can help in this regard.
But Sacha Tavolieri’s report does provide a glimpse of Manchester City’s summer plans. It now appears that Omar Marmoush is looming as a summer target for Pep Guardiola’s side. That move, provided that Manchester City can agree a transfer fee with Eintracht Frankfurt, would greatly improve City’s attacking options. It would also give the impression that perhaps a player like Jack Grealish could leave Manchester City next summer. Based on Pep Guardiola’s recent comments on the form of Jack Grealish that could be a realistic possibility if Marmoush is signed by the world champions nea xt summer.
Manchester City’s summer plans appear to be taking shape. Omar Marmoush is looming as summer target for the world champions. The versatile Egyptian attacker would add something new to Pep Guardiola’s squad so whether or not Manchester City do move for Marmoush is now a story to monitor over the coming months.
