Real Madrid have been monitoring the progress of Nico Paz in recent months and it is clear that they are considering a move for the player in the near future.

After all, the player has shone since moving to Como in August 2024 and already has six goals and five assists to his name in just 27 Serie A appearances this season.

When asked about Paz’s growth and a possible return earlier this week, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti did not rule anything out and confirmed that he is keeping track of the Argentine star’s progress.

Paz’s father speaks

Speaking to the media in a recent interview, Paz’s father Pablo Paz commented on his son’s career trajectory, likely path forward, and whether a move away from Como was on the cards in the near future.

He began by revealing how happy the Real Madrid starlet is at his new club where he is enjoying regular minutes under Cesc Fabregas.

“He loves everything here, the team, the group, and the people. I agree with him too. Of course, there are big things at stake but staying here for another year would be appropriate.”

He then revealed it was not just his thought process but that of Paz himself, especially given how he is enjoying a prominent role in a top European league.

“I think if you asked Nico what he would like to do, he would definitely want to stay in Como for another year, because he feels comfortable and happy, and with Fabregas, it’s like getting a master’s degree at university.”

Finally, Paz’s father opened up on how his son opted to sign from Como out of all the other options on his table which even included bigger names.

“There were at least four other alternatives, including Fiorentina and Stuttgart. But we really liked the Como project.”

“Fabregas certainly had an important influence because he spoke to us and made it clear that Nico would have the opportunity to play the way he likes. Talking to Cesc was important,” he added.
