Evan Ndicka’s sudden collapse on the pitch in yesterday’s match with Udinese shocked the world of Serie A, and above all those closest to him including his teammates.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports how Houssem Aouar was the most affect by Ndicka’s hospitalization.
The Algerian midfielder is very close with the Ivorian defender: the two of them joined Roma at the same time last year and have been inseparable ever since, sharing hotel rooms when travelling with the team and meeting with each other’s families in their free time.
According to the Italian newspaper, upon visiting Ndicka in the hospital along with the rest of the squad, Aouar told Daniele De Rossi, “I will stay with him. You go on to Rome without me.”
This request was granted to him by Roma, but ultimately Aouar changed his mind once the medics at the hospital informed him that he would not be able to stay in Ndicka’s hospital room overnight.
