The group stage of the Champions League has come to an end, and UEFA has officially announced the distribution of funds to the participating clubs.
These payments vary depending on the performance of each club during the initial qualifying phase, with the results determining how much money a club will earn.
Spanish teams have performed relatively well in the competition, but the financial differences between the country’s biggest clubs are quite noticeable.
Among the Spanish teams, FC Barcelona stand out as the highest earner. According to sources, Barcelona have generated a substantial €44.9 million in the current phase of the competition.
This is a clear indication of the club’s solid performance in the group stage. Following closely behind are Atletico Madrid, who earned €44.2 million. Despite finishing fifth in the group stage, Atletico’s performance has secured them a respectable sum.
On the other hand, Girona CF, despite not advancing to the next round, will still receive a total of €20 million. This is a significant amount for the club, though it is €3 million less than what they would have earned under the previous tournament format.

Real Madrid, traditionally one of the biggest clubs in Europe, faces a financial disparity compared to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
In fact, according to Real Madrid Confidencial, the record champions will earn €30 million for their efforts in the group stage, having finished in 11th place.
This is a stark contrast to their Spanish counterparts. Despite their ranking, Real Madrid still holds a significant international reputation, but the financial rewards do not reflect their usual dominance in Europe.
However, there is some hope for Real Madrid fans. If the club manages to progress through the upcoming play-offs, they would receive an additional €12 million.
This would bring their total earnings closer to €42 million, which would narrow the gap between them and the other Spanish clubs.
Real Madrid will face either Manchester City or Celtic Glasgow in the play-offs, and their opponents will be determined next Friday.
If they succeed in overcoming this hurdle, they could potentially face Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16.
