FLW take a look at how much Jon Rowe is earning in France compared to his time in East Anglia.

Jon Rowe was a revelation for Norwich City last season as former head coach David Wagner gave the 21-year-old a chance to impress at Carrow Road.

Having only made 18 first-team appearances prior to 2023-24, last season was a breakthrough year for Rowe, who showed glimpses of what he could become.

Netting 13 and laying on four assists across 38 games, the winger helped Norwich reach the play-offs, although they came up short against Leeds United in the semi-final.

Despite only having one full season under his belt, there was enough on show for clubs to be interested and in a summer of change for the Canaries, Rowe made the move to Marseille.

Signed on a season-long loan, Marseille have an obligation to buy the 21-year-old for £17 million with that deal also including a sell-on clause. This seems like a great piece of business from Norwich, who could be the beneficiary of Rowe's potential performances in Ligue 1.

With this in mind, at Football League World we have opted to look at Jon Rowe's salary at Marseille and how it compares to what he was earning at Carrow Road. It must be stressed that this is an estimate using Capology's data-driven system.

Rowe signed his second professional deal at Norwich in 2022, which is believed to have seen him earn £4,615 a week, as per Capology. Across a year, this totalled to £240,000 and is a relatively normal figure for a younger player who has yet to prove himself.

However, making the move to Marseille has seen his weekly wage grow exponentially. At present, he is earning £14,384, which sees him take home just under £750,000 a year.

In comparison to the rest of the Les Olympiens squad, this is a small figure with players like Adrien Rabiot and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg above the £95,000 per week mark.

Players that are closer to Rowe in the wage list are Pol Lirola and Ulisses Garcia, who both play a similar amount to the former Canaries forward.

If he can begin to feature more in the near future, then his wage could take a hike as he has some serious potential to show.

To date, Jon Rowe has only managed to start three Ligue 1 games, suggesting Roberto De Zerbi doesn't fully trust him to take up one of those winger roles.

However, he has managed two goals and two assists in 377 minutes of action, which equates to a contribution every 94 minutes.

With Luis Henrique and Mason Greenwood thriving under the former Brighton head coach, Rowe will need to remain patient and seize his opportunities as they come.

If an injury occurs, you can be certain that he will be waiting in the wings for an opportunity and, if he plays well enough, he could secure himself a starting spot.

But, at just 21 years old, he doesn't need to rush into regular starts; a period away from the spotlight could prove beneficial for his development and the prospect of a future with Marseille.
