Bayern Munich will face Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Dontesk on matchday six of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The final UEFA Champions League matchday of 2024 sees Bayern Munich take on Shakhtar Dontesk away from home. The Bavarians will hope to make it three wins in three in the league phase of the CL, and continue their rise up the standings.
Going into Tuesday's game, Bayern Munich are placed 13th while Shakhtar are 26th. So Vincent Kompany will hope that his side can get the three points without much fuss and take another step towards round of 16 qualification.
Despite it being an away game, FC Bayern will not have to travel far as Shakhtar are playing their Champions League matches at Schalke 04's Veltins-Arena this season.
Bayern will once again have to make do without a number of key players on Tuesday, with the likes of Harry Kane, Manuel Neuer, Kingsley Coman, Alphonso Davies, Serge Gnabry, and João Palhinha among those sidelined.
So the responsibility for leading the way in attack will once again fall on Jamal Musiala's shoulders. Mathys Tel could also start in attack alongside compatriot Michael Olise.
There are several talented players in the Shakhtar ranks who could pose a threat to Bayern, including attacking midfielders Georgiy Sudakov and Artem Bondarenko.
Bayern Munich's Champions League clash against Shakhtar Dontesk will be broadcast in the United States on Paramount+. Those in the United Kingdom can watch the game on Discovery+ and TNT Sports. This CL league phase contest will be broadcast in Germany on Amazon Prime Video.
