Ilaix Moriba is very close to becoming a new Getafe player, according to MD via Fabrizio Romano and Relevo. The midfielder was a request from José Bordalás to strengthen his midfield in the January transfer window and a deal could be made official in the next few hours.
The RB Leipzig player does not fit into Marco Rose’s plans and this season he has not played a single minute in any competition, with all parties now looking for a way out.
The German club paid €16m to Barcelona for Moriba in 2021 after the midfielder refused to renew his contract with the Catalan giants, but he has barely featured at Leipzig.
Bordalás and Moriba worked together at Valencia when the player was on loan at Mestalla and the coach from Alicante has requested his arrival.
The agreement between the player and the club is practically closed and all that remains now is for terms to be agreed with Leipzig.
