After months, even years of stagnation, Tanguy Ndombélé (27) is once again playing regular first-team footballl. Since joining OGC Nice on a free transfer, following the mutual termination of his contract at Tottenham Hotspur, the Frenchman has featured regularly.

So far this season, the former Olympique Lyonnais playmaker has made 18 appearances, netting twice and registering one assist. One of those goals came in a Coupe de France victory over the weekend. However, Ndombélé has not been entirely injury-free. He picked up a muscle injury earlier in the season and has also missed games with a hip issue.

In fact, despite regularly featuring for Les Aiglons this season, he has been playing through an ongoing pubalgia issue, as he revealed in the mixed zone over the weekend. “I’ve played a bit more than I perhaps should have. What people don’t know is that I have a pubalgia issue,” began the Nice midfielder.

“I’m gritting my teeth, trying to play with it as best as I can. We’re working on the issue little by little. I’m feeling less pain but I can’t give a date to when it will go away,” he added.

Ndombélé now has some time to recover. Following Nice’s Coupe de France win over Corte, secured in a penalty shoot-out, the club is now on a winter break. They will return to face Stade Rennais on 3rd January 2025.
