Serie A champions Inter have welcomed Carlos Augusto and Marko Arnautovic back to the squad ahead of Parma’s visit on Friday. According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, both players will be at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal for the upcoming showdown at Giuseppe Meazza.
Augusto was unavailable for selection for last weekend’s heart-stopping trip to Florence due to a minor muscle injury. However, the former Monza wingback returned to training on Wednesday and should be fit for tomorrow’s must-win game against Parma.
On the other hand, Arnautovic skipped Tuesday’s training session for family reasons. Inter granted the Austrian veteran permission to address his personal matters before rejoining team activities. But he should be back in training today.
However, Inter will take on Parma without Benjamin Pavard. The French defender is still on the sidelines with a thigh issue. His absence will likely make room for Yann Bisseck to reclaim his spot in the starting line-up after opening his season account at Hellas Verona last time out.
Pavard isn’t the only Inter defender stuck in the treatment room. Francesco Acerbi sustained a muscle problem at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi and should sit out the match against Fabio Pecchia’s side. Unlike Acerbi, Davide Frattesi should rejoin the fold.
Frattesi didn’t travel to Stadio Artemio Franchi with the rest of the Inter squad. He returned to partial training on Tuesday, handing Inzaghi an additional midfield option ahead of a congested fixture schedule. AfterEdoardo Bove’s collapse forced the postponement of Inter’s clash against Fiorentina, Inzaghi’s charges trail leaders Napoli by four points.
