Inter Milan will be making it a priority to avoid more late drama in Serie A after conceding too many goals towards the end of matches.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter conceded their first goal in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen.
But the Nerazzurri came extremely close to avoiding it and making it six clean sheets in a row in Europe.
Inter held out until stoppage time.
But then, a Nordi Mukiele header came as a real gut punch for Inter.
As the Corriere highlight, however, that was far from the only time that Inter have conceded late this season.
The Nerazzurri conceded against both Genoa and Monza in the closing fifteen minutes of draws early on in the campaign.
Then, both Udinese and Torino scored consolation goals in 3-2 Inter wins.
AC Milan scored their winner in the derby close to the ninetieth minute. And Juventus came back from 4-2 down to draw 4-4.
In recent weeks Inter have started to get out of this bad habit of conceding late.
A careless goal against Parma was a warning sign, however.
Starting with Lazio tomorrow, Inter will know how important it is to stay switched on right to the final whistle.
