Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is expecting this summer’s expanded FIFA Club World Cup to be a success.
The 28-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInter1908. He gave his thoughts on Inter’s participation in the tournament.
Inter Milan will be participating in the Club World Cup this summer.
The Nerazzurri are one of two Italian clubs to qualify for the tournament, along with Juventus.
And this edition of the Club World Cup will be a very different kind of competition for every team participating.
First of all, there is the fact that the tournament takes place in the summer. That means that it is at the end of the European club season, rather than midway through it.
Moreover, the expansion of the tournament’s format means that there are far more clubs in it.
That means that there is not just one entrant representing every single federation. Far, far from it in fact.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez gave his thoughts on the upcoming Club World Cup. “It will be great,” he anticipated.
“Because this is the first time that this version of the competition will be played.”

“So I’m happy about it,” Martinez said. “And very excited about what’s to come.”
Martinez expressed his happiness at playing against teams from other countries and cultures. “That’s what makes his competition stand out,” he said.
“It won’t just be teams from different continents and parts of the world playing,” the Argentine went on.
“I think the fans will play a big role. Because there will be so many different cultures, and different ways that people experience football, and express themselves.”
“This will be the first competition of its kind at club level,” Lautaro Martinez added. “And I think it will be a big success without a doubt.”
