Inter Milan “paid the price for their Treble ambition” with their slip-up away to Bologna in Serie A yesterday evening.
This is the view in Italian outlet FCInter1908. They analyze the devastating defeat for the Nerazzurri.
Inter Milan have a bitter pill to swallow after their match against Bologna yesterday.
The Nerazzurri have surrendered their advantage at the top of the Serie A table. They are now level on points with Napoli.
This followed a hard-fought match against Bologna. It was a match in which Inter just about looked to have earned a point.
It was not a match that was high on quality, and neither side had many good chances.
But it was a physical match. And one in which it was clearly Bologna who had the energy to push for a late winner.

Inter Milan were coming into yesterday’s match right off the back of a huge Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Even without going to extra time, that match was a huge effort for the Nerazzurri.
Nevertheless, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi decided to largely stick with the same starting eleven.
It was apparent that the Nerazzurri coach felt that he had to rely on his usual starters.
In midfield, the likes of Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani perhaps cannot provide the same kind of certainty that veterans like Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan can.
And in attack, Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi did not start. Both did come onto the pitch, but both have ongoing fitness issues.
Meanwhile, Joaquin Correa showed why he is not a starter with his performance.
In the view of FCIN1908, yesterday’s match exposed that Inter don’t quite have the squad depth they appear to.
And in trying to fight on three fronts at the decisive point in the season, the team paid for it.
