Star wingback Denzel Dumfries strongly believes in Inter Milan’s chances of hoisting the Champions League (UCL) trophy this term.
During an interview with Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, the 28-year-old reiterated his belief in this group.
Goals from Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez catapulted injury-hit Inter to a 2-0 win at Feyenoord last night.
Considering Inter’s indomitable home form in the Champions League, a quarter-final progression should be a mere formality.
Indeed, Simone Inzaghi’s side last lost a European fixture at the San Siro in September 2022.
Therefore, dropping a two-goal advantage looks almost impossible.
However, Inter must avoid complacency as they aim to secure a second appearance in the grand final in three years.
Despite losing to Manchester City two years ago, Inzaghi’s charges seem capable of going one better this season.
After helping Inter emerge victorious from their trip to Rotterdam, Dumfries addressed the press.
Asked whether the Nerazzurri can conquer the most coveted title in European club football, he replied: “I believe in it a lot.

“Two years ago, we reached the final, so everything is possible.
“But we have to always play well, even in defense.
“We are happy with what we have done so far,” Dumfries concluded.
Inter defied a growing injury crisis to beat Feyenoord at De Kuip last evening.
Federico Dimarco, Nicola Zalewski, Matteo Darmian, and Carlos Augusto were not at Inzaghi’s disposal.
Moreover, Yann Sommer had just returned from thumb surgery, forcing Inzaghi to play Josep Martinez in goal.
However, Inter seemed unfazed by several high-profile absences as they trounced Feyenoord in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
Furthermore, they added another Champions League clean sheet to the tally.
It’s now eight out of nine for Inzaghi’s impregnable backline.
