Inter Milan star Henrikh Mkhitaryan saw what would’ve been a precious winner against Barcelona disallowed for a marginal offside call.
Speaking to Prime after the game via FCInterNews, the 36-year-old admitted the decision didn’t sit well with him.
Barcelona and Inter threw a spectacle in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Indeed, fans in attendance were on the edge of their seats from the first whistle.
However, it was Inter to draw first blood.
Marcus Thuram opened the scoring inside the first 60 seconds before Denzel Dumfries made it 2-0 in the 21st minute.
Yet, Barcelona leveled the score before halftime through Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres.
Despite facing tremendous pressure, Inter regained the lead as Dumfries headed the ball past Wojciech Szczesny.
Unfortunately, Yann Sommer’s unlucky own goal capped off a remarkable contest in Catalonia.
It wasn’t the end of drama.
Mkhitaryan thought he had scored Inter’s fourth, only to see his strike disallowed for a minimal offside.

Asked how long he will think about that incident in the 75th minute, Mkhitaryan replied: “Maybe for the rest of my life because we could’ve had an advantage at that point in the match.
“I was offside by three centimeters. I’m sorry, but head up.
“Let’s hope to do well in the return leg and bring home a positive result.”
Furthermore, the ex-Roma midfielder confirmed fatigue is catching up with Inter.
“It’s a difficult moment. We’re tired, but inside the dressing room we know we need one last push to have no regrets.
“It’s not easy. We’re all suffering to get a positive result.
“I can’t say what kind of Barcelona we’ll face. We can do more in terms of possession and offensive play.
“They’re strong like us. We have to recover well, and then we’ll think about the return leg.”
