Inter deputy director Dario Baccin will watch a few talents from up close during his ongoing trip to Argentina, but one has already emerged as a real target, Racing’s Marco Di Cesare, local outlet Doble Amarilla reports (via Calciomercato).
He stars for the same team the Nerazzurri signed Lautaro Martinez from back in the day. The defender joined from Argentinos Juniors last summer and has logged 31 appearances this campaign, scoring once. He has an Italian passport, which never hurts.
Inter have been in touch with Juan Cruz Oller, the agent of Marco Di Cesare. The youngster is under contract until 2027 and has a €13M release clause. It’ll automatically increase to €15M in 2025. He participated in the Olympic Games last summer. Udinese, RB Leipzig, and Roma are also keeping tabs on him.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, in addition to the 22-year-old, The Nerazzurri will take a close look at Boca Junior’s Kevin Zanon, who’s a left wing-back, River Plate touted attacker Franco Mastantuono, who’s been linked to Milan and especially Real Madrid, and Velez’ Valentin Gomez, who’s a center-back as well.
Considering their expiring contracts and aging players, a defender they could groom behind the starters, à la Yann Aurel Bisseck, and a forward, as they won’t keep Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa, are the top priorities. It wouldn’t be surprising if they set up a signing in January already, as they like to move early to beat the competition. They have a splendid track record when it comes to signing Argentines.
