One of the biggest disappointments outside of matters on the pitch for Manchester City this season was the fractured leg suffered by Oscar Bobb. After an impressive pre-season tour of the United States the Norwegian international appeared set for a big 24/25 season. His performance against Manchester United in City’s FA Community Shield victory further illustrated this point. But it wasn’t to be for Oscar Bobb. He suffered a fractured leg on the eve of the season and hasn’t featured since.
Since then we had seen the young winger return to training. It did appear that he was set to return to the Manchester City squad for the Champions League league phase clash against Club Brugge. But he suffered a setback as he injured his ankle. That delayed Bobb’s return further. Pep Guardiola told the media before his team’s 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round tie win over Plymouth Argyle that Bobb was working his way back to full fitness. The Norwegian international has continued training since that point. Now based on images shared by Manchester City on their official X account it appears that Bobb is nearing a return to the pitch.
Manchester City trained yesterday after their defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Oscar Bobb was pictured training in an image that can be seen below. The fact that Bobb was featured so prominently on Manchester City’s X account may indicate that his return is edging closer. The hope is that he can be a part of Manchester City’s matchday squad for their upcoming Premier League clash with Brighton.

It remains to be seen if Oscar Bobb does return against Brighton. An update on his condition may come from Pep Guardiola when the City manager fronts the media on Friday. But it does seem that the Norwegian international is getting closer to a return and it will happen sooner rather than later if it doesn’t occur this weekend at the Etihad.
