One of the best players for Philippe Clement’s Rangers against Ross County on Sunday afternoon was Hamza Igamane.
Rangers eased past County with ease. The Ibrox club won the Scottish Premiership match at the Global Energy Stadium 3-0.
It was the Gers’ fourth win in their last five Scottish Premiership matches. Rangers are now two points behind second-placed Aberdeen, who have played a game more.
Igamane started the match for Rangers. The 22-year-old was deployed on the left of a midfield-four in a 4-1-4-1 formation.
The forward opened the scoring for Rangers in the sixth minute when his deflected thunderous effort went in.
Igamane could have added to his tally. The Moroccan youngster took four shots. Three of them were on target, according to WhoScored.
The forward gave three key passes and attempted three dribbles as well. It was a very good performance from the Rangers forward, and Sky Sports pundit James McFadden was impressed.
The former Scotland international forward has noted what makes Igamane a special player and has revealed what he noticed the Rangers star doing in warm-up that set him up for a good game against County.
McFadden said about Igamane on Sky Sports Football (2:14pm, December 8, 2024): “He is always in control. I know that sounds really simple, it looks like he’s comfortable, it looks like he has got time.
“And I know it can look a bit slack, but he’s relaxed, so he has got that confidence and that belief.
“We have seen him in the warm-up. He tried and nutmeg every member of staff. It set him up for the game, but I like it because, again, I am repeating myself, it looks like he is having fun, he is enjoying himself.”
It is hard to see Rangers beat Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title this season, but the Gers are still in other competitions and Igamane could play a big role in them.
Igamane is very likely to start against Celtic in the League Cup final next weekend. Rangers are also very much involved in the UEFA Europa League.
The forward has put his injury issues behind him and is now playing regularly for Rangers.
Igamane has scored four goals and given one assist in 14 matches in all competitions for Rangers so far this season.
