Not long ago, Inzaghi had seemed on the verge of sacking.

The 48-year-old’s torrid start at Giuseppe Meazza had often antagonized the Nerazzurri faithful.

However, Inter’s qualification for the 2023 UEFA Champions League title decider was a turning point.

Indeed, it offered the ex-Lazio head coach a lifeline. But more importantly, it gave him precious time to instill his ideas at Meazza.

Fast forward two years, Inzaghi is one of Europe’s most highly-rated managers.

Last year, he won his first Scudetto in emphatic fashion.

Despite lagging slightly behind pacesetters Atalanta this term, he’s well on course to defend his crown.

In the meantime, Milan and Juventus are struggling.

Michele Criscitiello Insists AC Milan & Juventus Need Someone Like Simone Inzaghi

Milan ran out of patience with Paulo Fonseca. They dismissed the Portuguese coach immediately after last night’s 1-1 draw against Roma.

However, Fonseca leaves wreckage in his wake, with the Rossoneri stranded eight points off the top-four pace.

Meanwhile, Juventus’ notorious inability to turn draws into victories has been the highlight of Thiago Motta’s troubled tenure.

Eleven stalemates from 18 league games keep the the record-time Italian champions well adrift of the top spot.

As for Inter, they’re thriving under Simone Inzaghi.

“Second star to the right, this is the path,” Criscitiello explained.

“An underestimated coach at first and always criticized. Football is for everyone, but not everyone understands it.

“Inzaghi is strong; both on and off the field. In management and the tactical aspect.

“A great coach who makes complicated things seem simple.

“He doesn’t get overly excited in victory and doesn’t get depressed in defeat.

“The perfect coach for a big club.

“Initially, Inter fans didn’t understand him, along the way they turned their backs on him, and now they silently appreciate his extraordinary work.

“A top person, an excellent coach. Juventus and Milan are missing an Inzaghi.

“Forget about the brother of… Simone has truly become great!”
