Nicolo Barella feels that regardless of an “easier” fixture list for Napoli, “no team will want to face” Inter Milan in the Serie A title race.
The 28-year-old spoke to Domenica Sportiva, via FCInterNews, after yesterday’s devastating 1-0 loss to Bologna.
Inter Milan lost for the fourth time in Serie A yesterday. They conceded in stoppage time to fall to a 1-0 defeat against Bologna.
That result, along with Napoli scraping a win away to Monza, means that the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei are now level on points at the top of the Serie A table.
Both of the two title rivals will have five more league matches to play.
And the fixture list for Inter and Napoli could therefore play a decisive role.
On paper, the Partenopei have quite a kind run of fixtures from now until the end of the campaign. They have gotten all the “big” matches out of the way, and face only teams in the lower half of the table.
Inter, on the other hand, have to face the likes of Roma and Lazio before the end of the campaign.

But in the view of Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, “Honestly I don’t think any team wants to play against Inter.”
“Regardless of the fixture list of other teams. We just have to focus on ourselves, and do our best.”
“At the end of the season we’ll see what happens,” said Barella.
And the 28-year-old made clear that “we can’t think that anything is over yet.”
“The title race isn’t done today,” Barella said. “Even if we know it will be tough.”
“We’ll fight until the end, as they will do as well.”
Meanwhile, Barella said of yesterday’s loss to Bologna that “this defeat means that to get where we want to be, we have to to better.”
“We can’t make errors like we did on the goal,” the Italian international rued.
“Because football can be cruel.”
Barella admitted that “it’s a shame.”
“But we’re still top of the table. And we’re still fighting on all fronts.”
“We’ve worked hard to get to this point,” Barella made clear. “And we have to enjoy being here.”
