Ivan Juric has spoke about the reason why he converted Tyler Dibling into a striker for Southampton's recent FA Cup win over Swansea.

At least for a couple more days, Southampton fans are encouraged to enjoy that winning feeling again. The Saints booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, facing Burnley, after they beat Welsh opposition Swansea comfortably in the third round.

While Southampton should have won the third round tie, it also wouldn't have been entirely surprising if they were eliminated from the competition. Therefore, Southampton fans have every right to feel happy.

One player in particular who should be feeling joyous is Tyler Dibling. While it has never been within his personality to pat himself on the back for doing his job, he did score the first brace of his career - Hopefully, the first of many.

In the match, Ivan Juric opted to use Tyler Dibling in a centre forward position. He played in a partnership alongside fellow goal-scorer Kamaldeen Sulemana, in a duo which clearly worked.

Speaking after the game, Juric was asked about the decision to play Dibling in the striker role, one which might have seemed unfamiliar to him. To which, Juric said that it's sometimes it's better this way as it would give Dibling a rest from running too much.

In his own words, Juric said: "I think that he's really young and I think he cannot run too much. Sometimes it is better that he's playing forward and waiting for the right moment like he did against Swansea, and to score the goal."

Juric made the risky call when selecting his Southampton lineup. It could have easily backfired but clearly, Juric had based the decision on what he had seen in training. Now, Southampton fans can have no complaints.

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, it would be nice to see Dibling used in the striker role more often. It might help to alleviate some of the attacking concerns we've seen and even if relegation isn't avoided, it would teach Juric plenty about his squad needs in the summer transfer window.
