Jamal Musiala’s new Bayern Munich contract could be finalised by the beginning of February, according to kicker, bringing an end to months of negotiations.

Speaking ahead of the club’s Champions League clash against Feyenoord on Wednesday night, Musiala offered an update on the situation, stating that “the talks are going well,” and that “everyone knows how much I value the club and how happy I am here.”

Jamal Musiala’s Bayern Munich release clause

As reported earlier, Musiala is set to have a €175m release clause inserted into his Bayern Munich contract. A five-year deal would also see him earn as much as Harry Kane, which is around €24m and €25m per year – the 21-year-old currently earns €9m.

But Musiala’s wish for a release clause was met hesitancy from the Rekordmeister. The exit clause will reportedly come into effect only when the player has two years remaining on his contract, which will drop to €100m when Musiala is in the final 12 months.

Bayern Munich face difficult clash against Feyenoord

Occupying 12th in the Champions League table, a win for Bayern Munich would see Vincent Kompany’s side climb into the automatic qualification places, should results go their way.

A boost for Bayern is the return of Musiala, who is expected to start for the first time in 2025 after recovering from the flu.
