Southampton must swoop for Goztepe’s in-form striker Romulo Cardoso by offering Paul Onuachu in exchange, whose future at the club remains uncertain.

In case you haven't realized it, it's been a good one and a half months since Johannes Spors arrived at Southampton. But don't you think, it's been a lacklustre tenure from the director so far?

While definitely, it's not possible to resolve all of the Saints' mess this early, Spors' defensive decisions have surely not excited fans.

Notably, while giving up on Walker-Peters still feels defendable, not backing in-form forward Paul Onuachu is naturally intriguing.

But if such calls have affected the supporters, the multi-club transfer model he proposed might not have settled down well with the St. Mary's faithful too. Being curious about its practicality, the fanbase is currently filled with a ton load of questions.

A puzzling situation for Spors and Southampton, isn’t it? Thankfully, still, there's a solution in sight to settle it all.

It's simple, swap Paul Onuachu for sister club Goztepe's in-form forward Romulo Cardoso.

Onuachu-Cardoso swap might relieve Southampton's struggles

With the Saints having halted Onuachu's contract renewal, it's certain they want to reassess his future. And since Southampton are hesitant to sanction Onuachu’s permanent departure, a swap deal becomes the best way to respect his brilliant current form.

And for whom? A familiar name, Goztepe’s rising star, Romulo Cardoso. At 23, Cardoso has been instrumental in Goztepe’s impressive campaign this season. Just recently, he scored a brilliant hat-trick against Beşiktaş in the Turkish Cup, showing his ability to deliver in big games.

Blessed with sharp movement, clinical finishing, and the ability to operate in tight spaces, he offers a versatile promising profile compared to Onuachu’s traditional target-man role.

What’s even better for the Saints? In this Onuachu-Cardoso swap, they not only gain a younger forward but also retain the option to recall Onuachu if needed.

Now, that's the security Spors' proposed multi-club model ought to provide. Just imagine, with this masterstroke, Southampton can have all the unmarked checkboxes currently left, filled.

Let's see if this move marks a fresh start for Spors' identity among the Saints fans.
