Jorginho is making a name for himself as Italy’s penalty taker, but not a good one.
The Arsenal man was once regarded as one of the world’s top spot-kick specialists, but he has now missed four in a row for the Azzurri in competitive matches.
Another failed attempt against North Macedonia in Friday’s Euro 2024 qualifier means Jorginho has now become the player that has missed his country’s most spot-kicks.
When asked who would take penalties for Italy going forward, manager Luciano Spalletti said this: “Based on personality, quality, and for the man he is, I expect Jorginho to pick up the ball.”
Does the Italy boss need to rethink his choice?
