According to Fabrizio Romano, Julian Draxler (29) has travelled to Doha today and completed his medical ahead of his move to Al Ahli from Paris Saint-Germain. The German attacking midfielder will sign a deal until 2025 with the Qatari club. The German is seen as surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes after spending last season on loan at Benfica.
The former Schalke attacking midfielder is the third PSG player to make the switch to Qatar with Abdou Diallo and more recently Marco Verratti making the move to the Gulf State. Both players joined Al Ahli’s domestic rivals Al-Arabi, with PSG receiving a reported €45m for Veratti.
Draxler signed for PSG from Wolfsburg in 2017 for a fee worth €36m. The 29-year-old made 198 appearances for Les Parisiens, scoring 26 goals and assisting a further 41. He won 4 Ligue 1 titles and 4 Coupe des France titles during his time in France.
