Napoli reciprocate the interest expressed by Georgyi Sudakov, but the deal isn’t at advanced stages at this point, and multiple sides are keen on him, including Juventus, Corriere dello Sport informs (via Fantacalcio).
Director Cristiano Giuntoli has been keeping tabs on the Ukrainian international since his days in Campania. The Azzurri lodged a significant attempt in January but were rebuffed. His side wasn’t ready to sell at that point.
Napoli and Juventus will try again to lure Sudakov in the summer, and Shakhtar Donetsk appear more open to letting him go than in the recent past. They’ll have to be willing to spend at least €40M, though. CEO Sergei Palkin recently stated that they were in talks with a Serie A outfit but didn’t specify which one.
The 22-year-old has tallied 13 goals and 6 assists in 35 matches this season. He has starred in the 23 Champions League games and has 28 caps with Ukraine under his belt. The 22-year-old has been performing at a high level in three consecutive campaigns. He primarily stars as a no.10, but he’s versatile. The Azzurri see him as a potential heir to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the left wing.
The Partenopei surely like him and wouldn’t have trouble finding a role for him despite some tactical reservations. The Bianconeri’s plans are fully up in the air until they decide on their coach. Plus, there’s a chance their management doesn’t survive the season without the Champions League. Anyway, the main hurdle is that Shakhtar is a very expensive boutique and one of the hardest bargainers around.
