Bild reports that Karlsruher SC are interested in VfB Stuttgart striker Luca Pfeiffer who is likely seen as surplus to requirements at the MHP Arena.
Pfieffer has struggled in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons since moving to Stuttgart in 2022. In his sole season with VfB, he failed to score in the Bundesliga, while he then moved on loan to Darmstadt in his second season, where he only scored once in 24 appearances.
However, the 27-year-old’s record is a lot better in the 2.Bundesliga where he helped Darmstadt gain promotion to the Bundesliga with 17 goals in 32 games.
Karlsruhe are not the only team that were interested in Pfeiffer as Nürnberg were also interested in bringing the striker to the Max-Morlock Stadion but instead, they opted for Janni Serra.
Not only would Pfeiffer add promotion experience to the Wildparkstadion, but he would also add depth to the striking position with Budu Zivzivadze and Fabian Schleusener the only truly senior options. Pfeiffer could also help fill the whole left by Igor Matanovic who returned to partner club Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer.
