Joshua Kimmich feels that Inter Milan “defend well” but that Bayern Munich can “score against anyone.”
The Bayern captain spoke to German broadcaster Ran, via FCInterNews, ahead of the Champions League quarterfinal first leg. He resisted the “underdog” tag for the Bavarians.
Bayern Munich and Inter Milan face off in the Champions League this week.
The Bavarians will host the Nerazzurri in the first leg of a quarterfinal tie. Then, it will be Inter who host the second leg at the San Siro.
There is little doubt that this tie will pit two of the potential winners of the Champions League.
Bayern and Inter are currently top of their respective domestic leagues.
And beyond that, both teams have shown both the attacking strength and defensive solidity to get results, including in the Champions League.
If anything, Inter’s defensive strength has been more evident in Europe than in Serie A.

Bayern Munich captain Joshua Kimmich said that it’s “hard to say” whether Bayern are underdogs or favourites against Inter.
“I haven’t seen much of Inter this season,” he admitted.
“I think that they’ve traditionally defended well. And you can see that in the Champions League, where they’ve only conceded two goals.”
“Of course, today [on Friday] we faced an opponent who we also knew had not conceded many goals in recent matches,” Kimmich said after his team’s 3-1 win over Augsburg.
“But we still scored three against them.”
“St. Pauli also haven’t conceded many goals,” Kimmich noted. “And we scored against them.”
