Eintracht’s preparations for the upcoming home match against Bayer Leverkusen are under way, with Robin Koch returning to training.
Robin Koch is back on the training pitch following the shoulder injury he sustained against VfL Wolfsburg at the start of February and completed parts of this morning’s session. Goalkeepers Kaua Santos and Amil Siljevic were hitting a few long balls to each other and the coaching team were finalising the individual stations when the centre-back arrived on pitch four at Deutsche Bank Park together with Kevin Trapp and Jens Grahl. In a small circle with Oscar Højlund, Hugo Larsson and Noah Fenyö, he kept the ball up, then spoke briefly with head coach Dino Toppmöller before joining the team on the warm-up lap, which was followed by an intensive warm-up with fitness coach Schahriar Bigdeli, who will face his former club on Saturday. Meanwhile, Igor Matanovic continued his recovery training after his foot injury.
The session featured technical drills of a competitive nature using small goals as well as match situations on a marked-out pitch with a strict limit on touches of the ball and 60 to 90 seconds’ intensity. It’s full speed ahead to the clash with Bayer 04 Leverkusen at Deutsche Bank Park at 18:30 CET on Saturday 1 March.
