Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez powered Inter to a two-nothing win away against Feyenoord, hitting the net together in the same game for the first time in months. The Argentine became the top Champions League scorer in the history of the club solo. He talked about it and more to Prime Video and Sky after the match (via SOSFanta).
“I’m proud of this achievement. I couldn’t have imagined it when I came here. I sweated and worked a lot for it. Who knows me is aware of what I went through during my time here. It all comes from sacrifice. I must forge ahead because it doesn’t end here, and I want more. I wish to bring Inter to the top.” “I’d certain like to end my career here, but it depends on a lot of things. I’m very happy and renewed my contract after the Copa America. I had many offers, but I decided to stay here. I wake up every day eager to go on the pitch.”
Lautaro Martinez was quizzed about the Inter goals this season.
“I can’t say that the Champions League is our only objective because it would be a lie. We take it game by game. The group emerged today in a time of difficulty. Many players starred out of position and made an effort. It’s a great sign for us. We’ve been playing every three days for seven or eight months. It takes a toll physically and mentally. We’re always trying to defend our colors the best we can. Sometimes the results go our way, in others, they don’t. However, the fans must be serene because this squad will always give it all for this team.”
