According to L’Équipe, RC Lens have approached Wolverhampton Wanderers over Malian defensive midfielder Boubacar Traoré (22). The French side have been keen to strengthen their midfield options this summer, and believe that Traoré could be a perfect option.
Traoré has experience in the French league having made his professional debut at FC Metz before moving to the English side on loan in the 2022/23 season before making the move permanent on the 1st of July 2023.
Traoré made 24 appearances in the Premier League last season (7 of which were starts) as Wolves recorded a comfortable 14th-place finish. L’Équipe believe that a transfer at this stage seems unlikely, with a loan considered the more feasible option, although they admit that the Wolves hierarchy have not yet made their position clear.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have been interested in Traoré for a while and are thought to be monitoring the situation as they expect to lose Manu Koné (23) this summer.
