Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has on Sunday dropped something of a hint, regarding the future of long-time Real Madrid target Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course dominated the headlines in Spain over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes amid mounting reports that the England international has made the decision to join Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold is due to see his Liverpool contract expire in the summer of 2025, with Los Blancos therefore working to entice the right-back to the Santiago Bernabéu on a free transfer.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s 5-0 drubbing of West Ham United earlier today, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of TAA’s contract situation was put to Arne Slot once more.

And Liverpool’s headmaster made use of the opportunity to reveal his take that the 26-year-old’s goalscoring celebration – which saw him use a hand to imitate a talking gesture – should represent sufficient proof of his plans:

“The way he celebrated his goal should tell you enough.”
